DESCRIPTION

Visiting Scholar in Information Systems

 

The Information Systems Area of The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine announces a position in Business Analytics to begin as early as July 1, 2019 pending Budget approval. This is a one-year position, renewable for a second year with demonstrated teaching excellence. The position involves teaching in business analytics and/or information systems (payroll title: Lecturer). Qualified scholars pursuing their own research program will also be employed via a simultaneous researcher classification (payroll title: in the Specialist series). You will be expected to teach across all programs (undergraduate, Masters, PhD), some of which may occur at night and/or on weekends, including summers. You may be asked to develop an on-line or hybrid course consistent with the School's objectives and teaching needs. It is expected that the primary teaching responsibilities will be in the new Master of Science in Business Analytics program, in courses related to big data management, data architecture, and advanced data analytics.

 

We are seeking individuals with active research programs in information systems, preferably with a data analytics focus, that target top journals. The School is committed to research and scholarship with teaching responsibilities in Ph.D., MBA and Undergraduate Programs. A Ph.D. in Information Systems, or relevant discipline completed by Summer 2019 is required. Salary will be commensurate with prior performance and experience.

 

The Information Systems faculty have long been recognized for their research and scholarship.
