About This Opportunity
Play a key role in educating future generations and creating an exceptional student experience as a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C). We have two positions available where you can contribute to the development of new programs and course material for UQ’s School of Economics and focus your efforts on growing your profile in research, teaching, service, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Level B (Lecturer)
Teaching:
Develop new programs and course material in consultation with program advisors and stakeholders.
Teach across different settings, contribute to curriculum design including online and alternative teaching methods.
Coordinate courses, prepare and deliver lectures/tutorials, and undertake assessment and marking for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Maintain and improve course quality through evaluations.
Provide high-quality academic counselling and advice to students.
Apply University rules relevant to teaching and learning practices.
Research:
Develop publications in world-leading or internationally excellent journals, preferably in Applied Economics.
Collaborate on research projects and applications for competitive funding.
Contribute to external research funding applications and manage obtained grants.
Present research at domestic and international conferences.
Supervision and Researcher Development:
Supervise Masters, Honours, and Higher Degree by Research students.
Participate in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of staff.
Resolve conflicts and grievances according to University policy.
Citizenship and Service:
Develop partnerships with colleagues, industry, government, and the wider community.
Demonstrate leadership through mentoring and collaboration.
Manage internal service roles, committee participation, and administrative functions.
Support other academic positions as needed.
Demonstrate UQ values consistently.
Level C (Senior Lecturer) – In addition to Level B responsibilities
Teaching:
Lead programs, disciplines, courses, or student cohorts.
Build and maintain internal and external education collaborations.
Research:
Develop partnerships with research end-users and external collaborators.
Build research teams and contribute to discipline service, including editorial boards.
Supervision and Researcher Development:
Demonstrate achievements in supervision outcomes.
Lead others in responsible conduct of research.
Facilitate engagement opportunities for supervisees.
Citizenship and Service:
Maintain established records in internal/external service and make leadership contributions.

About You
Level B (Lecturer):
PhD in Economics or relevant field by commencement.
Growing research and teaching profile, with publications in world-leading/internationally excellent journals.
Ability to teach undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate courses.
Course coordination and curriculum development experience.
Supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.
Evidence of seeking or managing external research funding.
Contribution to internal/external service activities.
Level C (Senior Lecturer):
PhD in Economics or relevant field.
Established research and teaching profile with significant publications.
Strong record in obtaining and managing research funding.
High-quality teaching and course coordination experience.
Supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.
Internal/external service leadership.
