Senior Lecturer in Business Law

You will:

Make significant contributions to our innovative online teaching and research team, delivering quality outcomes to students and the community throughout Australia. CQUniversity law courses are online delivery only, with on-campus criminology and business courses. You will be responsible for teaching emerging professionals and contributing to the legal research knowledge base and to professional activities in practical ways. Our focus is in twenty-first century legal career pathways and the innovations which are transforming the legal and justice professions. 

You are responsible for:

•  Preparing and conducting student learning activities, via the internet and on campus where required.   These include lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, seminars, student field excursions, simulations and clinical sessions.

•  Developing and maintaining the currency of unit materials, ensuring compliance with discipline standards, workflows and templates. You will also be responsible for creating self-paced study guides and interactive learning materials.

•  Unit and Course coordination, including administrative and reporting duties. Assessment, marking and moderation.

•  A range of administrative functions connected with the unit and course in which you teach. You will be expected to significantly contribute to broader service functions within the law program and take on a role responsibility for an area, such as student career support or work-based learning.

•  Consultation and engagement with students in synchronous and asynchronous online modes.

•  Attendance at school meetings (online) and playing a major role in planning or committee work.

•  The supervision of undergraduate student research projects and postgraduate research projects, including PhD supervision.

•  Contributing to the broader service functions within the law program, taking initiative in improving the learning and research community and take on a role responsibility for an area, such as student career support or workbased learning.

•  Engaging in research projects including, leadership of a research team, aligned with the law discipline research and other engagement activities as prescribed by the Dean of Law within the School of Business and Law. Assisting the discipline to achieve an improving ERA ranking.

•  Meeting the Enterprise Agreement research and external income requirements.

•  Involvement in professional activity that demonstrates community engagement impact.
