About You Senior Lecturer: The Senior Lecturer in the Department of International Business & Innovation and Entrepreneurship will make a significant contribution to the delivery of programs and to be actively involved in research, consulting, and other professional activities of the School in international business disciplines related to their field of expertise.
In this role the Senior Lecturer will have program management responsibility within the School. The Senior Lecturer will teach and make a significant contribution to teaching and learning in the mainstream international business strategy courses or subjects with a particular focus on sustainability and corporate social responsibility strategies and operations of multinational enterprises. The Senior Lecturer will develop, engage in and lead high quality research projects that are aligned with the University’s research focus areas to achieve success in attracting research funding and to produce high quality outputs. The Senior Lecturer will have an important research leadership role in embedding their research expertise into the life of the School and will be required to develop high-quality, productivity-driven networks across RMIT and with local, national and global, internal and external partners.
Lecturer: The Lecturer in International Business is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School in the mainstream of international business and strategy disciplines. More specifically, the Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Certificate programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. The Lecturer is also expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links, and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. The Lecturer is expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation. The Lecturer may be responsible for course coordination and be willing to serve in program management role depending on the operational needs of the Department/School.
To be successful in the Level C position, you’ll have You must have a PhD in International Business. Demonstrated experience and/or ability to coordinate large courses and prepare and delivery programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels in international business and international management, including high quality curriculum and program materials and ability to implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement. Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in developing and teaching sustainability and global corporate social responsibilities of multinational enterprise operations. Ability to manage a large program or a number of small programs. Demonstrated experience and ability to support student issues related to effective learning. Emerging internationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality international business and management journals. Extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance. Demonstrated experience in managing academic program team, supporting scholarly development of less experienced academic staff. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial, governance and quality management systems within a university. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.
To be successful in the Level B position, you’ll have: You must have a PhD in International Business. Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels in international business and international management, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials. Ability to undertake course coordination role inclusive of course design, development, and management in international business. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning. Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in developing and teaching sustainability and global corporate social responsibilities of multinational enterprise operations. Emerging track record and recognition for high quality research outputs which will contribute to the mainstream International Business Discipline in the School as evidenced by high quality publications in international business/management journals and development of new research initiatives. The capacities for winning competitive research funding and establishing industry links are desirable. Demonstrated ability or potential to supervise higher degree by research candidates is desirable. Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff, and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.
