Job assignments

The job assignments includes assistans in various projects at the Unit for Environmental Economics, at the Department of Economics. The unit conducts research on the environment, climate, natural resources and sustainable development. The holder will primarily work on projects that concern optimal design of policy instruments and the drivers of attitudes towards climate actions. Main tasks include data collection and analysis, writing reports, literature studies, information gathering, fact checking, proofreading and administration.


We are looking for a person who is about to finish his/ her master degree or have a master’s degree in economics with environmental economics, or have equivalent education. It is a requirement to communicate with ease in speech and writing in both Swedish and English, and have good ability to write and proofread texts. Since the work involves many contacts with researchers and external stakeholders, it is necessary that the holder of the position is good at collaborating both within and outside the department and is able to work proactively and efficiently in a multinational work environment. Knowledge and experience of working with Swedish and international environmental policy is considered a merit, as is experience of having previously worked with similar tasks. Experience in data analysis, econometrics and statistical software is an advantage. Great importance will be attached to the ability to take own initiatives, organize, work independently and to personal suitability.


The employment is a temporary employment during one year with an extent of 100% of full time, located at the Department of Economics. Starting date is 1st of September or upon agreement.

University of Gothenburg starts the fall with teaching and working on distance. Therefor the introduction to the work will partly take place at distance and work will probably be done at distance initially.
