Professorship in International Economics
salary scale W2 (m/f/x)

commencing 1 April 2025.

We are looking for a person who has established themselves as a theoretically sound and econometrically experienced researcher in the field of international economics.

The ability to carry out independent academic work in the field of international economics, demonstrated in particular by internationally visible publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals, is required.

Experience in the acquisition of competitive third-party funding and corresponding project management experience are also required. Ongoing research projects relevant to the profile of the advertised professorship are an advantage.

In terms of research, the professorship should strengthen one or more of the department's key research areas. A connection to the focus area "Digitalisation & Internationalisation" is expected. A willingness to participate in co-operative and interdisciplinary research projects is expected. In teaching, the professorship contributes to the department's Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in economics with courses in International Economics. It is involved in the department's doctoral programmes to promote young researchers. The willingness and ability to teach in English and the willingness of non-German-speaking candidates to acquire German language skills are required. As the University of Oldenburg and the University of Bremen are bound by a cooperation agreement, active participation in the cooperation is expected.

Prerequisites for employment are specified in section 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG).
