The School of Management sits within the College of Business and specialises in Management, Human Resource Management, International Business and Entrepreneurship. We offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programs including a thriving PhD program. Our School has over 60 full time academics who specialise in applied research that makes a difference to organisations, industries and communities.

We have over 5,000 students both in Melbourne and offshore in Singapore and Shanghai.

The Role and Responsibilities

The Professor will be an eminent researcher in the field of management, contributing significantly to high quality research outputs, building staff capability and promoting strong academic performance in the School of Management.


The Professor will make a significant contribution to the planning and strategic direction of the School, taking on major academic leadership roles involving participation in various committees within the School, College and University and external to the University, as appropriate.


The Professor will work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the School and will actively mentor more junior staff.


The Professor will make a significant contribution to teaching and learning in the School with the aim of improving learning outcomes for students through the development of innovative learning practices.


About You

As Professor of Management, you will be an internationally renowned scholar and provide high level research leadership whilst fostering a vibrant research culture.  You will lead and mentor research project teams and develop high-quality research networks across RMIT, nationally and globally.


We expect you to have distinction at the national level and an internationally recognised research track record, with proven ability to sustain and grow research groups and teams through the attraction of external funding.


You will be passionate about educating the next generation through your innovative learning and teaching practices.


In addition, it is expected that you have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to consult with senior executives and external bodies.
