Marshall School of Business Faculty Los Angeles, California

The Department of Marketing in the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California invites applicants for non-tenure-track (Teaching) positions at all levels beginning in Fall 2022 or possibly sooner.  Applicants must hold an advanced degree in Marketing or a closely related field prior to joining. This is an Open Rank listing and hiring rank depends on qualifications. Possible ranks include Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor of Clinical Marketing.

The USC Marshall School of Business is a private research and academic institution committed to educating tomorrow's diverse and global leaders. We are a collaborative and inclusive group of educators and scholars, who often work together and with our students. We value diverse pedagogical and curricular approaches that enhance student learning and engagement and are committed to an inclusive culture to ensure educational and research excellence.

The marketing department is extremely research active and productive. In the UT Dallas ranking of publications in the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Marketing, Journal Marketing Research, and Marketing Science, we placed 5th in the North American rankings for the 2014-2018 time period. Faculty stipends and benefits are on par with leading business schools. Over the past five years, the Dean’s office has implemented a Thought Leadership Initiative that has significantly expanded the size of the Marshall School’s tenure-track faculty and is still heading toward fruition. The Initiative also reduces teaching responsibilities for new assistant professors and provides enhanced research resources for research-active junior faculty.

The University of Southern California combines the strengths of a major, large research university with the advantages of a private college. Located in the heart of Los Angeles, the university provides a pleasant work and living environment with all of the amenities, challenges, and opportunities of a world-class city, which some expert observers characterize as the eastern capital of the Pacific Rim.

USC is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law or USC policy. USC will consider for employment all qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring ordinance.

Interested candidates should apply online.

Candidates should submit their application documents including a cover letter; full curriculum vitae; a teaching statement (addressing various aspects of their pedagogical approach, and strategies for creating a welcoming, supportive, and culturally responsive classroom); evidence of teaching excellence, including course evaluations, and three reference letters no later than October 15, 2021.
