Qualification Requirements

General entry requirements:

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Completed a second-cycle (Master’s) degree

  • Completed ≥240 higher education credits, with ≥60 credits at the second cycle

  • Equivalent knowledge acquired in Sweden or abroad

Specific entry requirements:

  • Completed ≥90 credits in Finance (or equivalent), including an independent thesis of ≥15 credits


Selection Criteria

Eligible candidates will be assessed based on:

  • Performance in previous higher education studies

  • Performance in independent written reports and theses

  • GRE General Test score (mandatory; department code 0008)

  • Communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in English (written and oral)

  • Letters of recommendation


About the Position

  • Start date: 1 September 2026

  • Employment type: Fixed-term doctoral student position under Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100)

  • Duration: Up to 4 years full-time

  • Workload: Primarily devoted to doctoral studies; up to 20% may include teaching, research, or administrative duties

  • Renewal: Employment is renewed annually (maximum 2 years at a time)
