Job Description & Qualification

The Department of Banking and Finance, Monash Business School, Melbourne, Australia, is seeking to recruit top academic faculty to tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor (Senior Lecturer and Lecturer) level, starting July 1, 2023 or as soon after that as possible.

We are seeking faculty who will produce outstanding research in finance as well as having a commitment to quality teaching.

Applicants should possess or be near completion of a PhD in finance or equivalent.

We offer attractive salary packages, including relocation expenses, market loadings, research support and generous parental leave.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Interviews of shortlisted candidates will be conducted in person at the FMA Meeting in Atlanta or at the FMA Asia-Pacific Meeting in Melbourne. Applicants should include their preference in the cover letter if they only plan to attend one of these meetings.

The department comprises approximately 55 academic staff engaging in teaching and research in banking, behavioural and household finance, financial institutions, corporate finance, asset pricing, market microstructure, and derivatives. We have first-class research resources and infrastructure, including a research IT manager, an extensive set of databases and an excellent seminar and brown bag series.  Generous research support is provided via an internal funding scheme that facilitates conference participation, research assistance and computing hardware/software purchases.
