Position Description:
The Department of Marketing within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for one or more non-tenure Instructional Track Faculty Position(s) in Marketing at the level of Lecturer, Associate Professor of Practice or Instruction, or Full Professor of Practice or Instruction, starting August 21, 2019. Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. Position(s) may range from 50% time (teaching 4 classes/year) to 100% time (teaching 8 classes/year) and include a 1-7 year contract with benefits. For more information about the Instructional Faculty policy, refer to the Operations Manual, III 10.11.


Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Appropriate background checks (e.g. criminal background and credential checks) will be conducted.

Education Requirement:
MBA degree from an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited institution.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated commitment to promoting a diverse educational environment.


Professional Experience (typically 1-3 years) in Marketing.


Evidence of teaching or professional development, which can be demonstrated through experience in classroom teaching, pedagogically-related advising or mentoring, curriculum development or other means at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.


Proficiency in presentation software and computer software applications including Microsoft Office.


Evidence of professional oral and written communication techniques, including demonstrated presentation skills.


Must have successfully completed a minimum of two years of teaching at the collegiate level.


Demonstrated ability to interact well with others in a professional environment.


Desirable Qualifications:

Holder of the doctorate, terminal degree, or other advanced degree.


Experience teaching MBA students.


Knowledge of University policies and procedures.


Knowledge of University course systems ICON and MAUI.
