## Further information
The successful candidate will join the Department of Public Services Management & Organisation (PSMO), which explores some of the most complex and pressing issues faced by both professionals and the organisations providing public services. In particular, we consider how contemporary developments - in policy, regulation and technology - are managed by professionals and public service organisations. We address these concerns by examining the ways in which organisations are rooted in broader social and political systems, structures, processes and practices.
The group is inclusive and interdisciplinary, and members conduct research ranging from in-depth qualitative analyses, through to large-scale labour market studies. To underpin our substantive concerns, the group also specialises in the theory and methods of organisational research.
In relation to technology and technological change, ongoing research in the department includes work on the introduction of AI tools in the work of radiographers, the organisation of teamwork in robot-assisted surgery, innovations in optometry, changing professional practices in hybrid auction houses, professional hybridisation, and more. We also work closely with the university-wide AI Institute.
