Why Your Role Matters:

Within the UNSW Business School, the Centre for Social Impact (CSI) is a research and education centre dedicated to catalysing social change for a better world.  

The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer position at the UNSW Centre for Social Impact is a research-intensive position expected to primarily make contributions to academic research and research partnerships with external stakeholders (industry, government, philanthropic foundations, not-for-profit organizations).

In this role you will carry out activities to maintain and develop their scholarly research, including publishing in strong relevant academic journals and develop an active of engagement in university, industry, government, and/or community roles in support of the Centre’s engaged research portfolio and research impact. You will support the CSI Research Director in securing new projects with partners, independently managing projects, and translating research findings for a variety of audiences. 

The level of appointment will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.  

 

Who You Are:

The skills and experience you will have for the Lecturer (Level B) position are:

  • A PhD in a discipline relevant to CSI such as management, organization, innovation, sustainability, information systems, strategy, not-for-profit management, business in society, or sociology.
  • An emerging record of research accomplishments that demonstrate research outputs in disciplinary areas of relevance to CSI, specifically innovation in organizational forms and enterprise for social impact; investing and governance for social impact; ESG; SDGs; systems lens approaches to social impact; not for profit management and governance; and sustainable social value creation.
  • High level knowledge of research designs and demonstrated application of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders to achieve research and budget objectives.
  • Ability to support the development of research collaborations of national and global standing, and inter-university and cross-university arrangements.

 

In addition to the above, the skills and experience you will have for the Senior Lecturer (Level C) position are:

  • Extensive experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders to achieve research and budget objectives.
  • Ability to lead and support the development of research collaborations of national and global standing, and inter-university and cross-university arrangements.
  • Evidence of a growing record of research accomplishments that demonstrate research outputs in disciplinary areas of relevance to CSI, specifically innovation in organizational forms and enterprise for social impact; investing and governance for social impact, ESG, SDGs, systems lens approaches to social impact; not for profit management and governance; social-purpose sector; and sustainable social value creation.
