  • Full-time, Continuing position

  • Salary Academic Level C + 17% Superannuation

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

 

About the Role

The Senior Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School, in disciplines related to their field of expertise (accounting, auditing). More specifically, the Senior Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. 

 

The Senior Lecturer is also expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities.  The Senior Lecturer is expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation.  The Senior Lecturer will be responsible for course (subject) coordination.

 

The Senior Lecturer is expected to demonstrate leadership by taking on administrative tasks commensurate with their standing in the Department.

 

About You

To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:

  • PhD in Accounting or in relevant field.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement program improvements and innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement programs.

  • Research track record including record of research outputs in high quality outlets.

  • Experience in research leadership with the ability to participate in collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff, secure external research funding.

  • Experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead scholarly development.

  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.
