Number of Positions Available 1 University Title Open Faculty Search Working Title Asst/Assoc Prof of Farm Mgt Department Agric, Evrnml & Dev Econ Department Location Columbus Requisition Number 463035 Summary of Duties Assistant or Associate Professor in Farm Management and Agricultural Policy Career Opportunity at Ohio State University The Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE) in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University (OSU) invites applications for Assistant or Associate Professor in Farm Management and Agricultural Policy. The incumbent will develop and implement a comprehensive and innovative extension, teaching and research program that addresses critical farm management issues affecting Ohioans, including marketing and price analysis, farm financial management and investing, risk evaluation and management, agricultural processing, environmental issues, and farm entry among other issues. The Assistant or Associate Professor in Farm Management and Agricultural Policy is expected develop a comprehensive extension/outreach program in their area of expertise and to serve as a state-level expert (approximately 50%) to advise and educate stakeholders and Extension professionals, and work as part of a collaborative farm management and policy team consisting of multi-disciplinary researchers, state specialists, Extension educators, external partners/stakeholders, research translators, and communicators. The incumbent is expected to develop a high quality applied research program (approximately 25%) complementary to their extension program, and has the opportunity to teach in AEDE’s undergraduate and/or graduate programs, through classroom instruction and/or development of modern curriculum, modules, and practical tools for use by the incumbent and others in classes, Extension programming, and professional/workforce development (approximately 25%). Candidates for this position will hold at least a PhD in economics, applied economics, agribusiness, or equivalent education/experience. Candidates must be collaborative and work well in a diverse team-oriented environment with superior verbal and written communications skills.
