Position Summary

OSU-Cascades, in partnership with the College of Business at Oregon State University-Corvallis, invite applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in Operations. The position is assigned to work at OSU-Cascades campus located in Bend, Oregon with a tenure home in the College of Business at Oregon State University in Corvallis.


Primary teaching responsibilities involve delivering undergraduate courses in operations, supply chain management, and statistics.


Scholarly activities are expected to result in publications in leading peer-refereed journals. Service responsibilities will include college or university committee assignments and informal student advising. Expectations include high-quality teaching and scholarly activities that result in publications in leading peer-refereed journals. Assistant Professors are expected to establish a program of research/scholarship that lead to timely promotion in rank and the granting of indefinite tenure.


OSU-Cascades, located in Bend, Oregon, is a branch campus of Oregon State University. Established in 2001, the university currently enrolls more than 1,100 students in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The campus expanded to a four-year university in 2015, and opened its new campus in 2016. The branch campus has ambitious enrollment goals to reach 3,000 to 5,000 students by 2025. OSU-Cascades is engaged in building a culturally diverse and community-centric educational environment.


Position Duties
50% Teaching – high-quality teaching of undergraduate courses in operations, supply chain management, and statistics.

40% Research – scientific investigations that lead to the publication of scholarly work.

10% Service – participate actively as a member of the university community: on administrative committees, search committees, university governance activities and student advising. Also as a member of one’s professional community.


Minimum/Required Qualifications
An appropriate earned doctorate from an AACSB/International accredited university or equivalent with an emphasis in operations or supply chain management or closely related field.


Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses; and demonstrated ability to develop a research program in the academic discipline/unit.


Candidates must have earned a PhD by the start date of employment.


Evidence of potential for research and scholarly publication and teaching effectiveness.


A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.


Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Teaching experience at the University level commensurate with job requirements.


Demonstrated ability to collaborate in scholarly pursuits with colleagues located both locally and remotely.
