The Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Hospitality and Tourism Management. The start date is July 1st, 2018, subject to final budgetary approval. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and progressive urban university located in the center of Toronto, Canada.


The position will have teaching, research and service obligations. We are seeking a candidate with a Ph.D. at the time of appointment who has hospitality and tourism industry experience, demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence, and a capacity for collaboration and collegial service. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated research agenda that is dynamic, productive, and applied. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the core curriculum in hospitality and tourism management. Candidates should have quantitative / data analytics research skills that can be applied to HTM areas such as marketing, finance, revenue management, or HR/OB. International experience and networks will be an asset.


Our school values experiential learning and the ability to connect with industry for applied research and teaching purposes. A successful research history (e.g., peer-reviewed publications and research grant applications) and an ambitious research agenda that links scholarly inquiry with practical or policy implications are required.


Application of experiential learning, case-study teaching and an understanding of the benefits
and opportunities of technological tools in pedagogy, and interest in innovative methods in the classroom will be an advantage. A candidate with teaching experience in a diverse and multicultural environment would also be an asset.
