W3 Professorship (Chair) for Statistics and Econometrics


One of the tasks is to adequately represent the subject in research and teaching. The successful candidate must be internationally recognized in research. A specialization in the time series analysis is expected. Concrete applications in empirical macroeconometrics and the ability to link to the professorships at the Department of Economics are expressly desired.


The chair is responsible for the basic statistical training in the Bachelor's degree. In addition, an active participation of the chair in the master programs as well as in the doctoral education of the faculty is expected. The ability and willingness to teach in English is expected.


Recruitment requirements are a completed college degree, pedagogical aptitude, which is special proficiency in scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate and beyond additional academic achievements. The latter are documented by habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements, which may also have been carried out in an area outside the university or in a junior professorship.


The FAU has the right to appeal. The civil service requirements for appointment are governed by Art. 10 BayHSchPG.


The FAU expects participation in the academic self-administration, the commitment to the acquisition of third-party funds and a high presence at the university to the intensive care of the students.
