Associate professor / senior lecturer (20%) in jazz At the Grieg Academy - Department of Music, there is a temporary position as associate professor / senior lecturer in performing music, jazz instrumentalist, preferably brass blower, in 20%. Addition is desired from 1 August 2019 - 31 July 2021. Arbeidsoppgåver / research area: We apply for an associate professor / university lecturer who can take responsibility for the implementation of a recruitment project for young female instrumentalists who wish to apply for admission to the field of study jazz, as well as to ordinary teaching assignments linked to instrumental teaching and compulsory teaching in jazz at BA and MA level. Teaching will mainly include work with main instrument and ensemble play before jazz study and possibly bi-instrument on other of our study offers. The subject environment needs an instrumentalist with high artistic expertise, with great commitment and relevant experience in order to contribute to the gender equality project that has been initia Qualifications and attributes: For position as associate professor: Documented artistic activity or development work that exerts on a high international level. For a position as a senior lecturer: Documented recognized artistic activity or development work as a practitioner of a certain extent. For both positions: Documented relevant practical experience with gender equality work and / or work on coursework or project with young female instrumentalists within the subject area. For both positions: Documented relevant practical-pedagogical competence on the basis of education or teaching and guidance. The professional competence will be assessed by an expert committee. The best qualified applicants will be called in for an interview by an internal interview group and will have to hold trial teaching for the department's staff and students. In addition, emphasis will be placed on: Educational abilities and commitment Good collaboration skills with emphasis on dialogue and inclusive professional communication Perspective on higher art education and experience from teaching at university level Organizational abilities and experience The language of instruction is Scandinavian and English. It is required that the person who is appointed can teach in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language within two years after the addition.
