At the Academy of Fine Arts - The Department of Contemporary Art is a vacancy for 20% for four years as Professor II in contemporary art. Addition is desired from 1 August 2019.


Arbeidsoppgåver / research area:

The professor will primarily be responsible for the development, organization and implementation of teaching and supervision at the master's level. The professor will work closely with others in the academic staff, and participate in the ongoing discussion about the department's profile and teaching program.


Applicants must point to significant creative practices and experience within the breadth of the contemporary art field. Stillinga demands both specific subject expertise, an overview of the different art's different directions and the ability to develop teaching and dissemination of these within a broad contemporary art context. Applicants must have relevant art-historical knowledge and both be updated within today's art field in the broad sense. Work assignments primarily include teaching, guidance and facilitation of these tasks.


Qualifications and attributes:

  • Documented relevant creative competence as a professor within the subject area
  • Documented practice from teaching before the corresponding study program

In addition, emphasis will be placed on:

  • Perspective on and experience with artistic development work
  • Educational abilities and commitment
  • Good collaboration skills with emphasis on dialogue and inclusive professional communication
  • Perspective on higher education
  • Organizational abilities and experience

  • Position as a professor (code 1013) in salary stages 77 - 80 (currently NOK 731,400 - 802,600 gross in full-time employment). For particularly qualified applicants, it may be relevant to consider higher salary.
