About the position
We have a vacant three-year position as a research fellow associated with the project Smart digital health communication at NTNU's Center for Academic Communication ( SEKOM ) at the Department of Language and Literature .

 

SEKOM was established in 2017 and focuses on the communication-related challenges that arise from the requirements for academic quality and for interdisciplinary activities in modern working life. These topics are relevant to a wide range of professions, in the private and public sectors.

 

Responsibilities
The project has a research and development focus that has as its overall objective to develop a knowledge-based tool (MOOC) that can support digital communication between healthcare workers and patients. We study concrete communication between health workers and patients. Through interdisciplinary research, we develop knowledge about health personnel's practice regarding the use of digital tools in communication with the patients. In addition, we explore methods for evaluating patients' eHealth literacy. The users (health personnel and patients) are included in all phases of the project.

 

Rheumatology is chosen as a clinical case. The data material is obtained through qualitative methods. Anyone who receives the position will collaborate with the interdisciplinary research group through various phases of the research process

 

eligibility Requirements
The main goal of the position as a research fellow is to qualify for work in research positions. The qualification requirement is completed major / master's degree (corresponding to 120 credits) with a strong academic background within applied linguistics or health science, with an emphasis on communication, or equivalent education that is equal to B or better compared with NTNU's grading scale . Applicants without letter grades from previous studies should have an equally good academic basis. Applicants with a weaker grade background may be considered if it is documented that the candidate is particularly suitable for a PhD education.

 

We refer to the Regulations on terms of employment for positions as postdoctoral fellow, PhD candidate, scientific assistant and specialist candidate for general criteria for the position.

Applicants must master Norwegian well as well as English both verbally and in writing
Desired background and expertise

Experience with project development from research and innovation
Experience with qualitative methods
Good collaboration skills

Salaries and terms
The position as fellow student code 1017 is paid gross NOK 449,400 per. years depending on qualifications and seniority. From salaries, 2% of the statutory deposit is withdrawn from the Government Pension Fund.

 

The employment period is 3 years. Appointment to a PhD position requires admission to PhD programs in linguistics. As a research fellow, you undertake to participate in an organized doctoral program within the period of employment, and employment requires that you are actually eligible for admission to the PhD program within three months.

 

The employment takes place on the terms that apply at all times to employees in the state, and after hiring you must expect that changes can occur in the work area.
