Scientific staff with a doctorate goal at the University of Bayreuth in cooperation with the Project Group Business Information Systems of the Fraunhofer FIT (Salary bracket 13 TV-L)  

The project group Business Information Systems at Fraunhofer FIT works together across locations at the Universities of Augsburg and Bayreuth. At the University of Bayreuth this is represented by the following chairs and professorships:

  • Chair of Business Administration XIV - Innovation and Dialogue Marketing Prof. Dr. med. Daniel Baier

  • Chair of Business Administration VII - Business Informatics Prof. Dr. med. Torsten Eymann

  • Chair of Business Informatics & Sustainable IT Management Prof. Dr. med. Gilbert Fridgen

  • Professorship for Business Informatics & Value-oriented Process Management Prof. Dr. med. Maximilian Röglinger

  • Chair of Business Informatics & Strategic IT-Management Prof. Dr. med. Nils Urbach


They complement our team at the Bayreuth site and benefit from the close integration of innovative research with future-oriented practical projects and attractive courses during their doctoral studies. In applied research projects, the Project Group Business Informatics of the Fraunhofer FIT develops holistic solutions at the interface between finance management, information management and business informatics, which focuses on the following principles:

  • Innovation, interdisciplinarity and sustainability

  • Value-oriented corporate management

  • Taking into account the challenges and opportunities of digitization

  • Integration of income and risk management

In particular, we deal with the following areas of application:


  • Customer Relationship Management

  • IT-supported financial management

  • Strategic IT Management

  • Value-oriented process management

  • Energy and critical infrastructures

  • IT security and privacy

  • Communication and IT-based collaboration

What you should bring with you:

  • An excellent university degree in economics, (business) computer science, (business) mathematics, industrial engineering, natural sciences

    sciences or related disciplines

  • Knowledge in Business Informatics and Economics

  • Very good analytical skills

  • Teamwork, motivation, initiative, motivation and flexibility

  • A solution-oriented way of working

  • Enjoyment of interdisciplinary cooperation as well as the dutiful assumption of responsibility

  • Very sure expression in both German and English

The required qualification must already be demonstrated in the application documents by means of corresponding certificates.
