Scientific staff with a doctorate goal at the University of Bayreuth in cooperation with the Project Group Business Information Systems of the Fraunhofer FIT (Salary bracket 13 TV-L)  

                                 
The project group Business Information Systems at Fraunhofer FIT works together across locations at the Universities of Augsburg and Bayreuth. The main topic value-oriented process management is represented by the following professors at the University of Bayreuth:

 

  • Dr. Maximilian Röglinger (Chair of Business Informatics and Value-Oriented Process Management)

 

The value-oriented process management research area deals with all phases of the process management lifecycle, from the identification, definition and modeling of processes, their implementation and execution, monitoring and control to continuous improvement and innovation. Our goal is to combine traditional approaches of process management with modern and interdisciplinary topics at the interface of business administration and computer science. Our current focus is: 

 

  • Economically sound decisions in process management 

  • Process improvement and innovation using digital technologies 

  • Management of process architectures and process project portfolios 

  • Process management in the digital age  

    (eg customer-centered and agile processes, future of work, Industry 4.0)

  • Data transmission process management 

    (eg Process Mining, Cognitive BPM)  

 

Your tasks:  

 

  • Development of quantitative models to support process decisions

  • Realization of software demonstrators for process management systems

  • Conducting empirical studies (eg case studies, Delphi studies)

  • Development of taxonomies, frameworks and methods for process management

  • Modeling and analysis of processes in applied research projects 

  • Supervision of theses and support for courses

  • Application of topics in industrial projects

  • Basic research on publicly funded projects

 


What you should bring with you:  

 

  • An excellent university degree in economics, (economic) computer science, (business) mathematics, industrial engineering, natural sciences or related disciplines 

  • Advanced knowledge in mathematics and statistics 

  • Strong interest in modern information and communication systems

  • Very good analytical skills

  • Interest in agile software development

  • Teamwork, motivation, initiative, motivation and flexibility 

  • Enjoyment of interdisciplinary cooperation as well as the dutiful assumption of responsibility

  • Very sure expression in both German and English

 

The required qualification must already be demonstrated in the application documents by means of corresponding certificates.
