1. A first or second class honours degree, majoring in Management or Business from a recognised degree awarding authority.


2. An equivalent relevant professional qualification obtained through examination.


3. Not less than five years relevant professional experience in industry, research or teaching subsequent to obtaining the above mentioned qualification.


A relevant post-graduate degree, ideally at doctorate level by a recognised degree
awarding authority and/or relevant equivalent qualification obtained through

Candidates should have a background in development, delivery of programmes and engagement with industry and research related to the activities of the Department. Candidates should have well documented organisational, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.


In addition to the minimum qualifications, it may be necessary to introduce further
shortlisting criteria, Therefore, applicants may be shortlisted on the basis of
qualifications and suitable experience, based on details given in the application

Duties will include:

1. Managing the effective and efficient running of the courses assigned to the Department.

2. Managing the effective use of the resources within the Department.

3. Motivating and developing the academic and support staff of the Department.

4. Recruitment of staff for the Department.

5. Developing strong programmes to assist student recruitment, progression, placement and welfare.

6. Lecturing up to 105 hours annually.

7. Planning and implementing programmes of research and development.

8. Planning and implementing new programmes of study relevant to present and evolving needs of the industry, students, government and the Institute.

9. Developing and strengthening links with educational institutions regionally, nationally and internationally.

10. Contributing to the achievement of the Institute's objective to support the economic and social development of the region.

11. Carrying out such duties within the Institute as may, from time to time, be assigned by the President of the Institute
