Senior consultant in the study section and the Department of Art and Media Studies


At the Faculty of Humanities, there is a permanent 100% position as senior consultant. The position will partly be part of the faculty administration and will be organized in the study section, and will be affiliated with the Department of Art and Media Studies. It is desirable for early accession.


HF has study administrators at faculty level and at the institutes. In the faculty administration's study section, the tasks of coordination, support for the departments, as well as some management tasks are featured. At the departments, most management tasks and tasks are required which require close proximity to students and the academic environment, such as administration of and support for teaching and examination, study guidance and case processing (especially student applications).


At the faculty's study section there are currently six positions.


The Department of Art and Media Studies currently has 31 permanent academic positions in the fields of drama and theater film science, film and video production, art history and media science, and nine fellowships, six administrative positions and three technical positions.


The employee who is employed as a senior consultant will report both to the section head of the study section and the office manager at the Department of Art and Media Studies.



The tasks entail both development and management tasks associated with the study area. Employee must work with:


In the study section:

  • Research and analysis work, including work on statistics and mapping
  • hearing Cases
  • Co-ordination tasks across the faculty and department
  • HF's representative in permanent or temporary committee coordinated by NTNU centrally
  • Secretariat assignments for advice and selection
  • Tasks related to study plans and quality development of HF's portfolio


Other administrative tasks related to the faculty's activities (including other institutes) may be applicable.


At the Department of Art and Media Studies:

  • recruitment
  • Information Work
  • Follow-up of alumni activities at the department in collaboration with NTNU centrally
  • Studieplanarbeid
  • Other study administrative work in collaboration with the department's other student administration staff
  • Arrangement support at the department


Other tasks, primarily within the field of study, but also other administrative tasks related to the department's activities may be relevant.


eligibility Requirements

  • Higher education at masters level within humanities or social sciences, or corresponding relevant higher education. Long and relevant experience or other relevant education (such as completed bachelor's degree in Economics and Administration) can compensate for the requirement for higher education, cf. NTNU's wage policy.
  • Good written language skills and manufacturing ability in Norwegian (both target forms) and English.
  • Good oral language skills in Norwegian and English.
  • Relevant administrative experience from the university and college sector will be given weight.
  • Experience with work in teams and in projects will be emphasized.


We wish to hire a person who has good cooperative skills, can work efficiently and independently and who is positive and service-minded. The employee must contribute to a good working climate within the study section as well as across sections and units; The collaboration between the department of study staff and the Institute's study administration staff is particularly important. Personal qualities will therefore be given a decisive weight in assessing the applicants.


The place of work will be the Faculty of Humanities, NTNU.


practical information

  • The position is paid as a senior consultant, position code 1363, with a minimum annual salary of NOK 435 500. - Employee will normally be paid from NOK 472 300, - to NOK 534 100, - per year depending on qualifications. From gross salary, 2% of statutory deposits are deducted from the Government Pension Fund.
  • Appointment is made on the terms that apply to public officials at all times. Employee must be able to assume organizational changes as well as changes in work tasks.
