Department Summary


University of Oregon Academic Extension (AE) provides leadership for the incubation and delivery of special learning opportunities, including professional development, conferences, lifelong learning and summer special programs. Working closely with academic partners and administrative units across campus, AE facilities entrepreneurial learning opportunities through customized operational systems essential for quality programs.


Position Summary


The Applied Information Management (AIM) program at the University of Oregon is seeking qualified applicants for its open instruction pool. The AIM program is an interdisciplinary MS degree, delivered fully online, awarded by the UO Graduate School. AIM is designed to accommodate individuals who are part-time students while also working as full-time professionals.



In addition to teaching one or more online course(s), duties might include: developing an online course in the learning management system prior to student enrollment, maintaining office hours, post-course debriefings and review, and joining an ongoing faculty forum.



Potential courses may include: Information Management, Business Management (IT), Information Design, and Applied Research.



Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. In limited circumstances, there is a possibility of renewal beyond three years based on programmatic need, funding and performance. Salary is dependent on education and experience.


Minimum Requirements


Minimum Qualifications for Instructor: 


• Advanced Degree in library sciences, business, engineering, or computer-related major
• Ten years of professional experience are required in one or more of the following fields:
- Business management
- Information management
- Information design
- Applied research



Minimum Qualifications for Lecturer: 


• Terminal Degree in library sciences, business, engineering, or computer-related major
• Ten years of professional experience are required in one or more of the following fields:
- Business management
- Information management
- Information design
- Applied research


Preferred Qualifications


• Management and/or executive leadership of Information Technology staff and teams.
• Two years teaching postsecondary courses for a university.
• One years teaching in an online environment for a university.
• Experience in one of the following areas: 
- Information Technology project planning, management, and implementation or architecting 
- Data modeling and design 
- Vendor management 
- Professional identity management 
- IT security 
- Sustainability of organizations
