Position Description: The Department of Economics at the University of Chicago invites applications for a full-time Senior Research Associate. This is a two-year position and will begin in the 2018-2019 academic year. Applicants must apply online at the University of Chicago's Academic Career Opportunities website at


Working in collaboration with the faculty director, the SRA will conduct original research and co-author and solo-author academic publications. The SRA is expected to have an active role in obtaining and carrying out funded research, and will serve as Co-Investigator and independent Principal Investigator on research grants. The SRA is also expected to teach one undergraduate course per year. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics, at least three years postdoctoral experience, experience in writing grant proposals, and a strong commitment to research. They must have demonstrated ability to communicate research findings clearly to multiple audiences through oral presentations and written work.


An applied microeconomist with experience in the fields of public, urban, environmental, and labor economics is preferred.
