Adjunct Lecturer of Communication-Distribution of Recordings: Media, Retail and Online Channels

The Master of Communication Management (MCM) program in the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California seeks a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to supplement instruction offered by our full-time faculty, specifically to teach one section of CMGT-547, Distribution of Recordings: Media, Retail and Online Channels in spring 2022. This class focuses on communicating to consumers through the streaming audio market, including radio, music, podcasting, and audiobooks. The course gives students an understanding of the landscape, business models, media channels, and advertising opportunities available through audio content.

Candidates must have substantial industry experience in marketing communication and/or entrepreneurship. Teaching experience in marketing communication, strategic and organizational communication, other fields of applied communication is highly desired.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: A Bachelor’s in Communication, Music Industries, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management or related fields.

Minimum Experience: 15 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education: A Master’s in Communication, Music Industries, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management or related fields.

Preferred Experience: Teaching experience in marketing communication, strategic and organizational communication, other fields of applied communication. Demonstrated ability to coach and help students achieve their academic and professional goals. Work experience in related positions at national or global agencies or Fortune-500 tier companies.

USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
