The Opportunity
The Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada invites applications for a full-time tenured position, at the Associate or Full Professor rank in Entrepreneurship and/or Strategy. The position is to commence on July 1, 2018 and is subject to final budgetary approval.

Ryerson University is Canada’s comprehensive innovation university with an integrated cross-campus ecosystem supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. We have the largest entrepreneurship academic department in Canada and we teach entrepreneurship to some 6,000 students a year, offering 70+ courses across the campus. The Department of Entrepreneurship & Strategy is both research and teaching focused. Ryerson has two dedicated entrepreneurship research units, the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship and the Entrepreneurship Research Institute and our faculty publish widely across leading journals and serve on a number of editorial boards. We are recognised as leaders in entrepreneurship pedagogy and innovative learning and our Department includes a number of teaching award winners. We are major contributors to entrepreneurship activities across the campus. Our students are active nationally and internationally and are frequent award winners at Enactus and DECA.

 

Responsibilities


The position responsibilities include conducting and publishing quality research in the area of Entrepreneurship & Strategy, teaching of upper year undergraduate and Masters’ level courses in Entrepreneurship & Strategy, and contributing to the academic responsibilities of the department, the faculty, and the university. This position will also assist in the development of our planned PhD program and mentoring junior faculty.

 

Qualifications


This position is directed to candidates who have a PhD in Entrepreneurship or Strategy or related areas from an AACSB accredited institution and at least ten (10) years of demonstrated academic excellence at a top tier academic or research institute. Successful candidates will have a distinguished scholarly research and teaching record and a renowned reputation in the fields of entrepreneurship and/or strategy. Candidates will have a sustained record of publishing in top management journals, and proven teaching excellence at all levels. The candidate should be an active researcher and a team player, willing to build relationships with faculty, students, administration and the university community, and willing to help build our research reputation. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to upholding the values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in education as it pertains to service, teaching, and scholarly, research, or creative activities.
