Position Description: The University of Chicago Booth School of Business is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time lecturer position to teach a five or ten-week introductory class on programming with Python in our MBA program in the 2018-19 academic year (autumn 2018 through summer 2019).

 

The course should cover the basics of programming including variables, data types and structure, loops, and functions. Students should also learn how to pull data from the web, clean and manipulate data, conduct data analysis, and create visualizations using popular Python packages such as Numpy, Scikit-Learn, Pandas, and Matplotlib.

 

We will review applications on an on-going basis throughout the year but will stop accepting applications for 2018-19 on June 30, 2018. Each candidate must submit a curriculum vitae or resume. We also would prefer to receive a cover letter, a course outline, and course evaluations if available from any prior teaching experience.

Qualified applicants must have a graduate-level degree; a PhD is preferred. Candidates with prior experience teaching MBA students and/or teaching non-programmers, and those with experience conducting relevant data analysis projects in Python are strongly preferred.
